What can I say.we had a SIMPLY FABULOUS time!įor more details and pictures, visit.are three campgrounds in Sinks Canyon. It was so pleasant being among people of like mind. Very popular place.Īll in all, we had a great get-away weekend and are planning to return again. Marc and I decided we wanted to come back on Labor day weekend but they are sold out. The park was very busy, as I understand it is most every weekend. Of course, we did not go there, but I wonder if walking is the only thing that goes on back in there. There was even an area called "The Trails" with a number of paths going back into the woods. There are tent areas, RV areas, cabins for rent, and a large area of permanent residents houses. The timing for us did not allow us to take advantage of this extra day. They also have a weekend special giving you Thursday night or Sunday night free. The cost for us this weekend was $40 a night. They have full hookups with 30/50amp service available. Each campsite had a fire ring and cement patio. Click on the map to get a better picture. All the streets are named after fruits(go figure). The RV spots were spacious, and the entire park is covered with large older oak trees, with plenty of shade, which helped with the warm temps here in Florida. We did not win, but had a wonderful time with great conversations. There was woody's, the night time disco/dance area, dances there every night. Drinks were strong, and great camaraderie there. (Food was mediocre but what do you expect in a gay campground in the middle of nowhere). They have a splash bar and grill, overlooking the clothing optional pool. Sit down at the bar and you immediately became part of the conversation. Where ever we went, everyone started talking with you. One point that we really liked, was the friendliness. Many well organized and planned events to keep you occupied and to meet the others there. And, although there were many bears there, there was a good mix of all types, as well. They have different and well planned themes each weekend. Rustic, but with all the amenities you would need for an enjoyable camping weekend. This weekend Marc and I decided to enjoy this infamous campground. A premier gay and lesbian camping resort, about 45 minutes north/east of Tampa, Florida.
